![]() Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.ĭegrees of punishment are also implied by how Christ talked about the cities of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. But the one who did not know his master’s will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. That servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or do what his master asked will receive a severe beating. Christ described this in Luke 12:47-48 when he said: The degrees of punishment will be affected by how much revelation each person was exposed to and disobeyed. At the judgment, people will receive differing degrees of punishment based on the deeds they committed (Rev 20:12). Various verses describe how Christ will judge people’s works and specifically the works of unbelievers. At the judgment, deceased unbelievers will be raised to life and judged according to their works-including thoughts, words, and actions which are being accurately recorded in divine books. What are characteristics of this judgment?ġ. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death-the lake of fire. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. Then books were opened, and another book was opened-the book of life. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them. Revelation 20:11-14 describes this judgment: What is the great white throne of judgment? The great white throne of judgment is where Christ will ultimately judge unbelievers.
